RAFA Branch £100K Wings Appeal Dinner
Grange Moor Hotel, Maidstone  Friday 26th October 2007

Since being formed 12 years ago, the Aylesford and Malling Branch of the Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA) has contributed £100,000 to the Battle of Britain Wings Appeal.

At a commemorative dinner,  in response to loyal greetings to their Patron, the Queen sent her congratulations to the Branch on its remarkable achievement.

Guest of Honour at the Dinner was RAFA President, Air Marshal Philip Sturley, who received a commemorative cheque from Branch Chairman Ted Bates. In return he presented the Branch with a Central Council certificate of membership of the Wings Appeal £100,000 Club. It was the first certificate of its kind to be presented to a Branch.

The President also presented Certificates of Appreciation to Margaret Burton, Branch Vice Chairman, and Brian Bates, webmaster, for their outstanding efforts in support of the Branch.
