We are pleased to announce that our seventh annual charity concert in aid of the RAF Association Battle of Britain Wings Appeal took place on Wednesday 25th February 2009. It was a sell-out success once again, raising £3,500 for Wings Appeal. In attendance this year were the mayors/mayoresses of Tonbridge & Malling, Tunbridge Wells and Ashford. For the first time we also had the Vice-chairman of Kent County Council with his wife.
The Band was conducted on this occasion by Bandmaster WO Frans de-Leuw, his last public performance before retirement after 32 years service. We wish him and his wife Denise well in their retirement to Crete.
Matthew Little who for many years has been the very popular vocalist with the Band, as well as an instrumentalist ,has now been commissioned. Flight Lieutenant Matthew Little is now Director of Music, RAF Regiment Band.
Held once again in the Ditton Community Centre it was another sell out performance (see Ditton Parish Council ) with the Central Band of the Royal Air Force performing for us.
